It is important to understand that everybody’s system works differently. What is good for you may not work for another person. So our instructions on taking the colon caps expect you to find, through trial, what your body needs for it to purge safely. It is better to start slow and so permit the cleanse to sink deeper into your system, rather than giving the body a sudden shock, which would create unnecessary tension and contraction – a counter-productive process. Listen to your body and it will tell you how many caps it needs for things to work.
Start with 1 or 2 caps twice per day with lunch and dinner. You may experience 1 or 2 more bowel movements a day, or more volume with the same number of bowel movements. If you do not notice any changes within a day or two, then increase the caps by 1 or 2 per day until you find the amount of daily caps you need to get 2-3 bowel movements. If you start to have diarrhoea then you are taking too many, so adjust by taking fewer caps and see how that works for you.
At some point, maybe about 2-3 weeks into the cleanse, the amount of caps you are taking will not produce the same result. This is called a plateau – increase the number of caps by 1 or 2 per day and see how the body responds. Don’t worry if you hit a few plateaux during the treatment. If 2 to 3 caps per day works for you at the beginning, you may need up to 7-10 per day later on.

Treatment in Cycles
Treatment is best done in cycles – each cycle is 4 weeks on the caps and 1 week off. It is important to take the “off” week. You should try to do at least 2-3 cycles for the first cleanse and 1-2 cycles for maintenance cleanses every 6 months. Try not to wait for a year between maintenance cycles.
Some people have given feedback that they needed up to 20 colon caps per day to start to move the bowel during the first cleanse. Sometimes the gut could be quite stagnant that it takes a stronger push initially. I mention this so that you won’t be afraid of taking too many caps.
